AC3 Domestic Laminate

AC4 Heavy Domestic

Water-Resistant Laminate

The number on the box that actually matters.
Every laminate carries an AC rating from AC1 to AC5 — how much wear its surface survives. Most people never see it, and it is the single biggest reason a cheap laminate looks tired in two years. Pick a room to see what we would specify.
Which grade for which room
Bedrooms — AC3 is enough, and the saving is real across several rooms.
Living rooms & majlis — AC4. Daily use and moved furniture will find the limits of AC3 within a few years.
Hallways & entrances — AC4 minimum, because sand tracked in from outside is abrasive and hallways take every trip through the house.
Offices — AC5 with chair mats, or move to glue-down LVT, which handles castors far better.
Kitchens, bathrooms & laundry — not laminate. Use SPC. We would rather lose the job than fit a floor that swells.
As a rule: pick the AC grade for the traffic, and pick a different product entirely for any room where water can stand. Those two rules prevent almost every laminate complaint we are ever called about.
